Orange Balls Of Light And Lightning Over Celbridge Co Kildare Ireland

Date: November 27, 2010
Time: Approx: 2:00 a.m.

Hi Brian, I’m from Celbridge, Co Kildare in Ireland and I seen something in the sky tonight, so I done a quick Google search and found out that they were in Kilkenny earlier and you posted about them on your site.

Okay, it started when I went onto Facebook and I seen a lot of posts about strange flashing lights over Celbridge. All my friends were talking about it online. I didn't take any notice to it until my girlfriend gave me a call and asked did I see them too. I told her no, but I would pop outside and have a look around.

In my back garden when I step out my door I face west. I stood there for around 2 to 3 minutes while on the phone to my girlfriend saying I couldn't see anything. All of a sudden directly above my head I seen 2 orange balls floating over my head.

To put it simply, they were exactly side by side and to my eye they appeared to be about 1 inch away from each other heading on the same trajectory. There were no clouds above m head so I had nothing to compare their altitude to to mentally work out roughly that their distance was. If I was to take a stab at it, I would say they were flying roughly at a small aircraft's standard altitude height. Again if compared to a small lightweight aircraft they appeared to be moving about twice as fast.

They were not bright orange, but more of a dim orange color.

I done some investigation and lots of people are saying these are Chinese lanterns, but there is one thing that happened that leads me to think differently.

As I was watching them move along the sky, the orb on the left side sped up very slightly and as it done so it suddenly shook forward and backward very violently (but stayed exactly on its trajectory - imagine violently tapping your car breaks a few times while on a straight road and having a car beside you going in the same direction). This lasted for about 2 seconds. After the shaking the second orb's speed suddenly increased to match the speed of the first orb and they continued off into the distance. I would have expected to see them for longer then I did, but it came to a point when they both suddenly disappeared (too early if you ask me when again compared to an airline light)

Anyway I thought this was the flashing light everybody was talking about, but I decided to stay outside for another few minutes. Around 3 to 4 minutes after the orb sightings I was looking directly south when I seen two massive white flashes that literally light up my entire back garden and the houses around. They lasted only milliseconds. Around 3 minutes later I heard a really low rumble in the distance. I woke up my father and he came outside and we both watched as more white flashes occurred. It turns out that there was lightning which is very rare for us to ever get over here especially in November. I confirmed this by viewing weather readings I found online (high and low pressure near the Irish sea)

So I confirmed that I seen lightning, but what on earth were those 2 orbs prior to that? Could they have been aliens? Who knows! I really can't say they were lanterns or an aircraft or weather balloons (especially because of the left orbs strange vibration - I've never seen anything do that before)

I’m 22 and I've never seen anything like that before. My father is 53 and he is from Turkey (living in Ireland around 30 years) and he has said never in his life has he heard or seen something like that in Ireland or Turkey. He also said never in his life has he seen lightning in November and he grew up in Turkey where they get severe lightning storms.

It’s just strange that I seen 2 orange orbs and then November lightning.

This all happened roughly at around 2:00am (27th Nov 2010). My girlfriend can also confirm that I stated I seen 2 orange orbs because I was describing it to her as I was watching it happen.

I just thought I should share my story with someone.

Thanks for reading.

Object Zig Zags Through The Sky Over London Mile End UK

Date: November 25, 2010
Time: 7:18 p.m.

Location of Sighting: London Mile End UK.
Number of witnesses: 1
Number of Objects:
Shape of Objects:

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I went onto my balcony to have a cigarette and just happened to look up. I saw a what looked like a star and I noticed it moving. It was fairly cloudy and overcast, however not windy at all. The star moved in a very slight zig-zagged forward motion through a gap in the clouds and then through another further north from the last.

It had no trail and looked bright just like a star. I live not far from an airport and see planes go past all the time and this was far too far away to have been a plane. I am perplexed to say the least. I am searching the internet for some explanation which is how I found this site. It is now too overcast to see anything but it was moving too quickly for it to still be there. What on earth was it?

Orange Light Over GCHQ Oakley UK

Date: November 23, 2010
Time: Approx: 5:00 p.m.

Hi Brian, I picked up your info from the web.

I live practically next to GCHQ Oakley in Chelt in Wessex drive. I’ve seen plenty of these orange lights coming over, tried to film some, but the Iphone does not do a good job. I think I'll dig out my old camcorder.

This week I had a good sighting about 5 pm on Tuesday the 23rd Of November 2010. The typical large slow moving orange light, however, this time I was able to get my binoculars and watch for about 3 minutes.

It approached from the south, stopped pretty much due south of me at about 60% above me. The orange light slowly faded out, but this time I was able to continue to watch the faint object move off quite quickly towards the South East, it changed direction abruptly, which I felt ruled out the old worn out excuse of Chinese lanterns. I was unable to guess height. By the way I am a helicopter pilot but only for pleasure and therefore feel quite convinced that this is not conventional aircraft.

Best regards.

Lights On UFO Seen Over Frinton On Sea UK

Date: December 24, 2008
Time: 7:30 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Frinton On Sea UK.
Number of witnesses: 1
Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: Rectangular, shape glowing.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I was outside my back door when I saw an orange light just above the trees moving towards my rear garden. It was becoming larger as it moved closer, the object passed my garden and went between my house and the house next door. It was about 30 feet up and seemed the size of two helicopters, it was glowing bright orange, but there was not a sound coming from it.

It was completely silent. I could not believe what was happening, but went inside to get my binoculars, and ran out the front of my house to see it again. It was only about 10 seconds before I looked through my binoculars to find it had travelled very high in the sky, but still clear through binoculars, it was now more round in shape and had 5 or 6 much brighter lights on the right side like numbers on a clock face.

I will never forget this and it really as it overshadowed my Christmas, I can still see this object now, the event will never fade in my mind. I have experienced people not believing me or taking the mickey, as this was Christmas Eve. What I witnessed was real, frightening, and was not in any way or form a Chinese lantern.

Orange Flame Like Light Seen From Cullybackey Northern Ireland

Date: November 24, 2010
Time: Evening.

Hello, I just seen a light as what you described in your blog.

I live just outside Cullybackey and I was out with my dog and I looked over towards the Portrush direction. The light seemed to come from the horizon and moved steadily faster up towards Ahoghill direction.

It was a large orange light like a flame, moving extremely fast, it took about 3 minutes to pass overhead. It seemed like it was very high, not sure of the distance though.

Regards.

Chrome Sphere Hovering In The Sky On The Outskirts Of Cirencester UK

Date: November 21, 2010
Time: 2:35 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Outskirts Of Cirencester UK.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: Chrome Sphere.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: My family and I were out in the car, it was a clear and bright day and the sun reflected off an object in the sky, causing a flash of light.

At this time we did not know what it could be, so I pulled over and my wife and I got out of the vehicle and watched. We had a great view of it, as it was a chrome sphere and it was just sitting there in sky, not moving for approximately 5 minutes. It must have then moved so fast, faster than the eye could see. It had vanished.

Navigator And Pilot Observe 4 To 5 Amber Orange Lights Over Tennant Creek Northern Territory Australia

Date: June 2010
Time: Early evening.

Location of Sighting: Skies east of Tennant Creek NT.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: 4-5
Shape of Objects: Too far

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I work as a Navigator for an Aerial Surveying Company and we were doing a ferry from Kununurra WA to Tennant Creek NT, when we were on final approach to TC when both I and the pilot watched about 4 to 5 amber orange lights in the distance to the east slowly moving and blinking on and off. Some of them would drop in height and then rejoin the group.

There was another plane ahead of us which was coming in to TC from the opposite direction, however I would not know if they saw the lights too, but if they had looked out the right of them I would be pretty certain that they could have seen them even though they were at lower altitude to us.

The pilot joked to me that we were seeing UFO's, but when discussed over dinner that night, he refused to accept that and said they were "probably" planes.

I have worked in the aviation industry for over 12 years and the pilot for over 35 years and I know a plane when I see one.

This is the 2nd time I have encountered strange aerial activity and I might submit a report for that one too, but that was a few years ago, but lasted alot longer over a major city.

If anyone has witnessed the lights/objects, please send me an email with details of what you saw. Please remember to include the date and time and location. (Town/City – State or Province) and as much detail as possible.

Orange Light Over Glasgow Scotland

Date: November 21, 2010
Time: Approx: 10:00 p.m.

Hi Brian, I too saw this orange light in the sky, but it was earlier in the evening maybe around 10:00ish in the G52 area of Glasgow. I have 4 other people who can verify this. The light remained static for a few minutes, then moved slowly and our view was obstructed for a few seconds and as it came into view again, it sped away southwesterly at a high speed.

Hope this helps with your investigations.

UFO Observed Over Gillingham Medway UK

Date: November 29, 2010
Time: 6:30 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Gillingham Medway UK.
Number of witnesses: 3
Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: Oval.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Coming down Windmill road by Medway Hospital, I saw a bright light, thought at first it was a plane, looked again and noticed there was no noise and kept looking while walking. When I looked back, there was a young couple just arriving home who were watching the sky, I asked them was it a plane, and they answered no.

I walked back up the road towards the hospital and as we looked we saw an oval object yellow with white lights around the outside that were very bright and an arc of red lights underneath.

We stood talking as to what it could be, while we watched it disappear over the hospital. I then walked down to the flyover and once I reached the bridge, I saw this again to my right hand side over Chatham Hill and it was making its way over the lines. This was seen by someone living in Thorold Road. The sighting was covered by Lance Morgan in the Medway news.

Strange Lights Filmed Over Failsworth UK (Video Footage)

Date: November 19, 2010
Time: Evening.

I've just seen some very strange lights in the sky over Failsworth as I left the office. Video attached.

I just looked up at the lights and there they were, there were other people also looking up with cameras in hand.

I managed to film a bit, but there were other lights that followed straight after and 2 grey circles moving together after that.

Very strange and certainly not something I've ever seen before, but also quite amazing whatever the phenomenon might be.

Thanks.

UFO Caught On Film Over The Ancient City Thailand (Pictures)

Date: June 2010
Time: Daylight.

Hi, it was taken in June this year at a place called Ancient City which is I am told is the largest outdoors museum in the world. It's about 20 miles south of Bangkok.

Photo left: Click on the picture for larger view.

I was not aware of it, nor did anyone else notice it at the time, in fact it wasn't until I arrived home and was looking at my holiday snaps that it caught my attention.

So I blew it up and was quite shocked to see it behind me. I checked through the previous photo's and could just about make it out as a very distant spec, probably 4 miles away.

There was no more than 10 seconds between the two photos, so it must have been travelling at some speed I think. The camera I was using was a Samsung ES17 12.2 mega pixel. Feel free to post it. Regards.

Large Pink Purple Ball With Tail Seen Over Stockport UK

Date: November 15, 2010
Time: Approx: 5:00 p.m.

HI, after leaving work in Stockport last night at around 5:00pm. I joined the M60 motorway at junction 27 heading towards Altrincham. Just before the pyramid junction on the driver’s side, I’m sure I saw through my front window a large pink/purple ball shape with what looked like a long tail.

A bit commit looking. It seemed to be going very fast and then suddenly disappeared. It defiantly wasn’t a lantern. It also seemed quite low.

If anybody else reports anything like this could you please email me. Many thanks.

UFO Disappears And Reappears Over Chestergate UK

Date: July 2010
Time: Approx: 3:17 a.m.

Recently over the last few months. I have seen a numerous amount of strange lights over Macclesfield. One sighting I had seen, I tried to catch on my camera phone. But truth be told my camera phone is of poor quality. It was around July 2010 and about 3:17am and the light I saw on Chestergate, was really odd.

It looked almost like a star, but it wasn't because whatever this UFO was, it hovered in all kinds of directions and it had what looked like a blue/red blinking light to the left of it. Due to my insomnia, I proceeded to watch it in which it would occasionally disappear and reappear in another location.

It repeated this process many times and eventually stopped about half past 4. This is not the only encounter I've witnessed. I have moved flat since and have seen oddly shaped objects in the sky yet again. Has anybody else witnessed these strange happenings and if so please do contact me, as this really interests me.

Bright Orange Red Lights Over Bromley UK

Date: November 12, 2010
Time: Approx: 10:00 p.m.

Just as it was starting to prove safe to finally leave the world of geekydom, behind us up pops another bright orange glow moving at speed across the sky to force our attention once again upwards.

I waved my sister off at around 10:00pm on 12 November and she later reported that it was whilst she was waiting at the bus stop on College Road, Bromley that she saw a bright orange-red object moving silently at speed across the sky. She rejected the idea of a Chinese lantern as it was moving too quickly, too evenly and at one point disappeared behind a cloud to re-emerge to continue its trajectory in a easterly direction.

A couple of months earlier, on 2 September I waved my sister off again and as I watched her make her way pass the roundabout and towards College Road, my eyes were immediately drawn up at the sky. There I saw a bright orange-red pulsating object floating about 100 meters up in the air just above the tree.

My first thought was that it was a burning kite as it was of similar shape, however the magnificence in its size. I trained my eyes on it for about 5 minutes until it started to move ever so slowly towards my building. Feeling a bit spooked, a I stepped back and it stopped. Then it started to climb in height and continued it’s forward movement. When I could no longer see it, I dashed to the back of the flat to stare out of the my bedroom window. Nothing. I returned to the front and saw nothing.

I turned on my computer to do some work and it was around 11:30pm that my sister called to ask if I had seen "that orange thing in the sky". It was when she described it as disappearing behind the houses on College Road that I realized we were talking about two different "bright orange things". It was during this conversation that I reminded her about the noise we'd heard prior to the sightings.

As she was gathering her bags to leave a loud, ear-ripping mechanical drone suddenly reverberated around us. I said (and to this day) that I thought it sounded as if came from the street. Sis reckoned that the noise sounded as if it was in the room. Either way, it made her teeth go on edge and my head started to hurt. Minutes later we saw the orange light Coincidence?

The following day we decided to meet up again this time with brother and her daughter in tow to chew the fat of the events of the previous night. Predictably, there was much twitching of curtains, gazing up into the sky. Of course, nobody expected to see anything. I kissed and waved them off at around half past midnight and it was whilst I was seated at the computer doing some work when a call came in. A very excited niece was shouting down the phone that they'd seen "some lights in the sky".

It was whilst brother was driving sis and niece home that he saw something in the sky and muttered, "what the heck is that?" Sis bent down in her seat and then shouted for him to stop the car. What they saw were "about 12-15 bright orange lights moving silently across the sky in a large V-formation". The lights soon patterned themselves into one long line and when each light arrived at a certain point in the sky, each light went out.

Soon afterwards, sis shouted "oh my god there are more coming". They turned their heads to see four bright lights crossing the sky over Baring Road/Heather Road (in the Lee area) in the shape of what appeared to be four lights fashioned as if they each lit up a corner of a very, very large dark oblong. Yes, it is possible that these things are man-made/man-manned but what for me was really unsettling was the loud, ear-splitting mechanical drone we heard only minutes before the orange objects. I'd be interested to hear if anybody else has experienced similar (with or without the lights). Regards.

Bright Orange Light Over Knocklyon In Dublin Ireland

Date: November 15, 2010
Time: Approx: 7:30 p.m.

Hey what’s up, I saw the same thing you described about an hour ago. It wasn’t hovering. I saw it moving very fast across the sky and the bright orange glow got lighter the further away it got. It moved faster than any plane or helicopter I’ve ever seen and was moving to slow to be a shooting star. Very interesting stuff.

Additional Information:

Hi there, I live in Knocklyon in Dublin, Ireland which is where I saw the object, and I saw it today (Monday, November 15, 2010) at about 7:30pm. When we noticed the object, it looked about 2-3 miles away over Tallaght near my house in Dublin. In the space of 30-45 seconds in came across the sky moving west to east.

When we first saw it, it was a bright orange light, but by the time it was above us, it had changed colour to a less visible dull-orange. It was moving very fast, faster than any plane or helicopter, but was not high enough in the sky to be a comet, even my friend who is skeptical about these things was shocked at the sight.

I have seen this type of object before ,about 2 months ago at night. First time was again in my area, but instead of the object moving across the sky, it descended up into the sky and eventually disappeared, and I witnessed the exact same thing again about a week later in Templeogue, the movement of the object was different in these sightings, but the bright orange colour was the same.

I was told that it was probably a Chinese lantern that I saw, but there is no way it was a lantern, I’ve seen them before and they bear no resemblance. That’s all the info I have, let me know what you think it is, extraterrestrial?

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

Mist Shrouded UFO Over Torquay UK

Date: August 28, 2010
Time: 11:30 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Torquay UK.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects:

Full Description of Event/Sighting: We had a bbq that evening and after dark, as usual, we spotted several lanterns travelling west/east at roughly the same height and speed, we even launched a few ourselves. At about 11.30 my eldest son (27) and I were still outside when we saw what we thought was yet another lantern, but this time it was coming from the north to south and was quite dim.

It seemed to be descending as it headed straight for us and as it got closer we could clearly see it was definitely not a lantern, but something quite different, the night was clear with stars, as this thing passed over our heads with no sound at all.

We could see what I can only describe as a pillow shape of mist with an orange light inside. It had no clear edges or hard surfaces and no other lights. It just looked like this large orange light had it's very own cloud shrouding it. As it passed over us it gained speed and altitude and sped off very quickly. We see a lot of planes here due to navigation beacon at Berry Head, but nothing....ever, like that.

2 Silent Red Lights Over Te Anau Southland New Zealand (Chinese Lanterns/Wish Lanterns)

Update To Sighting Report.

Date: November 12, 2010
Time: 9:55 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Te Anau Southland New Zealand.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: 2
Shape of Objects: Luminescent circular.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Te Anau has beautiful clear skies due to it’s remote and pristine location, we are used to seeing aircraft, particularly helicopters and light aircraft overhead. But my partner and I also saw the strange and silent red light over the town on Friday 12th November. In fact we saw two - within ten minutes of each other - following a similar trajectory across the sky.

The coloring and size of these objects confirmed for us that they could not be aircraft or satellites, they were too low, too bright and a strange circular shape. I am certain that many other citizens of the town will have seen this phenomenon but, like the previous writer and ourselves, be reluctant to give our names or details for fear of ridicule.

We have been watching the skies with mixed hope and fear for many years and this is the strangest thing we have ever seen. Again, we would very much like others to confirm what we saw so we may be in a position to 'go public'.

Update:

Hi, we've been sent a link to your Blogspot - http://worldufos.blogspot.com/2010/11/red-light-observed-from-lake-te-anau.html

Please explain to your observant spotter this explanation:

Two words = Sky Lantern

Friday night in Te Anau included a Divali party (it's the biggest Hindu festival and very awesome), we celebrated a week late to ensure we weren't seen to be celebrating terrorism ("Guy Fawkes" which is also celebrated locally), I couldn't get white sky lanterns and procured 10 red ones from www.trademe.co.nz

They were big red tissue paper heart editions (usually for weddings), we had possibly 10 witnesses to the launch of 4, in two lots of two during evening, we gave 5 away as presents as part of the festivities and have one left which your anonymous spotter is welcome to have (ask them to go to the Fiordland Cinema and identify themselves, or Trips and Tramps).

At night they glow and there is a chance the night watcher might have seen the cardboard burning beneath the basically paper hot air balloon before is burnt out, all organic biodegradable components of course.

We only have one local night flyer who was not in the airspace at the time of launch.

Hope this helps.

Brian Vike’s Note: I would like to thank the folks for sending along the information which gave the answer to what the witness saw, which was Chinese lanterns/Wish lanterns or which ever one wants to call them, as there is numerous names for these lanterns and yes, even UFO Balloons.

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

Orange Lights Over Denny Scotland

Date: November 14, 2010
Time: 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Denny Scotland.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: 2 at same time and seen another 4.
Shape of Objects: Round.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: We seen two around orange objects at 5:00pm and about 5 minutes apart. They were just round solid orange lights that moved along the sky then disappeared. At about 9:30, me and my work colleague saw 2 pass in the sky just after the first one disappeared.

The second one came, then that disappeared. Then a couple of minutes after that, another one came and when we could still see it, another one seemed to rise in the far distance and follow the first one. This is not the first time I've seen these. I saw another one last night around 10:00pm and my two daughters seen it also. About two weeks ago, another colleague seen it also. Always the same a solid orange light. Anybody else seen this?

Bright Flashing Object Over Birstall Leicester UK

Date: November 10, 2010
Time: 1:00am – it’s 2:06am now and can still see it.

Location of Sighting: Birstall Leicester UK.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: 2
Shape of Objects: Appeared to be lights.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Both me and my boyfriend witnessed what appeared to be a very bright shining star. We were standing at the rear of his house looking southeast, towards Leicester. We kept looking at it, as it was considerably brighter than any star we could see (It is a very clear night with not much cloud cover.)

As we looked at it, we noticed it appeared to be almost flashing with a large spectrum of colour, mainly blue, red and white. We thought this was odd, so kept looking at it, and it seemed to get bigger and the lights we could see shining were not shining in a pattern, they would flash faster and slower.

Also this object we could see in the sky appeared to move considerably, almost like it was swinging, moving left to right and also up and down, but in a small area, not all across the sky. It is now 1.40am, and as I have gone out to check on it, we have noticed a small red flashing light which was next to the object when I first went out to check.

It wasn't there before I came into write this email. In a matter of seconds, this red flashing light that was next to the flashing object high in the sky has descended quickly and also is not flashing in any kind of pattern, but it is just one red light. At around approximately 1.25am the original flashing object shrunk in size, now it looks almost like any other star, but it is still flashing and it is still there.

Also, me and my boyfriend have seen what appears to be a shooting star out of the corner of our eyes on three occasions whilst looking at this object. It shot at such a speed that when you move your eyes to look at it, it has gone. Neither me or my boyfriend can explain it, the original object has transformed in it’s size and the amount of light it has been emitting has dropped.

When it was at its brightest, with the lights of different colours shining strong, it almost looked as if there was something below it, the light was casting a shadow. It’s difficult to describe, but it kind of resembled what you see at an eclipse of the sun, but obviously on a smaller scale. It is 2:07am now and the original object can still be seen, but is much smaller than it became at approximately 1:10am.

Orange Glow From UFO Over Coalisland Co. Tyrone UK

Date: November 9, 2010
Time: Approx: 7:30 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Coalisland Co.Tyrone.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: Circular.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: At about 7.30pm I left my house to get my phone from my car, but a large orange glow in the distance caught my eye due to the speed at which it was travelling. It was moving from west to east much faster than any aircraft I’ve ever seen. It was flying no more than a few hundred feet from the ground, and although difficult to estimate, it seemed only 2-3 hundred feet diagonally away from me.

I ran inside the house to tell my mother to come out and look. We both stood watching it trying to work out what it was because I wouldn't ever believe in anything like this, but it amazed us both.

It was visible for a minute or so, I never got a recording although I never even thought until it was to late. The object made no sound whatsoever and covered a vast distance in no time. It was a clear sky and in proportion to the stars, it was 4 or 5 times bigger. It didn't really freak me out at the time, but on checking the net for other sightings in my area, and writing this I can honestly say its the weirdest experience I’ve ever encountered.

Red Light Observed From Lake Te Anau Southland (Chinese Lanterns/Wish Lanterns)

Date: November 12, 2010
Time: Approx: 9:55 p.m.

I just saw a red light fly through the sky. It appeared in the sky from nowhere and came steadily closer. At first I thought it was a helicopter or plane, but the light was bright and steady (not flashing). I was waiting to hear it, but there was no noise. I kept watching and it came closer and closer still no noise.

I rushed inside to grab my camera and when I came back out, it went through a bit of very light cloud (wouldn't ordinarily block out anything) and I thought well, it must be higher up than I thought. It's a pretty clear night, so it will appear again out the other side, but that was it, gone. I didn't see again.

It was about 9:55pm over Lake Te Anau, Southland. Coming from the west/northwest heading east/southeast

Normally this wouldn't concern me as anything different, the thing that got me is that there was no sound at all. Here surrounded by mountains you can hear aircraft from miles away and that it just disappeared into nowhere.

I don't know, very mysterious. I want to know what it was. Would also be interested if anyone else seen it. Am reluctant to give my name, it's a small town and people will think I've gone crazy.

Thanks.

Ball Of Bright Orange Light Over Murieston Scotland

Date: November 10, 2010
Time: 5:45 p.m.

Hello, I seen the exact same thing last night (5:45pm) that you describe on your May 8th 2010 blog. This was pretty much directly over Murieston heading west and then turned to go east, it gradually faded out and disappeared.

I have to admit, I think it was a Chinese Lantern, but the thing that's throwing me, is that it changed speed and direction fairly quickly, there was hardly any wind last night. I couldn't really make out any defined shape through my binoculars, just a ball of bright orange light. Make of it what you will, just thought I’d let you know.

Orange Lights Over Belfast City Ireland

Date: End of October to November 8, 2010
Time: Various times/day night.

Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: Round.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Hi I'd like some help please with what I am seeing here so frequently. I'm really serious, it’s no hoax. I don't want to waste anyone's time. To simplify it, its an orange ball I'm seeing literally every night I go out, no matter where or which direction. It is incredible, I have seen it at very low altitudes maybe 200 feet above the top of houses.

I have seen it at high altitudes also and I would estimate easily having seen this object, 30 plus times. One night I saw it 3-4 times in various places. I have tried to film it with my phone camera 3.2mp and on play back I see nothing apart from the sodium glow of street lights, cars, buildings etc. At times it’s been right in front of me to. I neither use alcohol or medication either. I have perfect vision, as only 2 weeks ago I read the last line of a test card in a medical, what ever this is, its 100% real.

I have thought it out and I have to dismiss it being Chinese lanterns for several reasons:

1. It does not drift or blow out

2. Its purity in its energy never diminishes although it does seem to go behind cloud.

3. I have seen it leave the ground from various locations around Belfast from somewhere near the BT building in the city center. Also from somewhere near the Forestside shopping center.

I have considered it being a Rocket/flare and I also dismiss that to, as there’s no noise, no smoke, no sparks and it does not ever burn out. I have watched it for a few minutes, usually it just goes away behind the buildings etc. I dismiss it being any conventional aircraft as it’s as I say, completely silent. Its smaller than a plane or a helicopter as I live over a fight path.

This object has no vapor trail, tail lights etc. Its always orange and very bright in colour. Only on one occasion while living on the top floor of a house whilst watching it go in two directions on some bizarre flight path from the skylight window in my bedroom. I saw what appeared to be a dark triangular (small) object under it. I can't be certain though, I really think its of interest especially of the frequency I see it. Its disturbing in some ways, please if I can help you more or if you have any knowledge I'd be delighted, yours hopefully.

Red And Orange Light In The Sky North Of Dublin Ireland

Date: November 9, 2010 and October 31, 2010
Time: Approx: 8:00 p.m.

Hello, I saw them in the north of Dublin on the 31-10-10. I thought at first they were fireworks. It was Halloween, but they stayed in the air far too long and then moved in closer and then disappeared very fast and came back again and moved in circles, just amazing.

I also saw them tonight 9-11-10 around 8:00pm. They glowed orange and very bright red. At first there was just one it was so close and I could see such detail in the vibrant colors it disappeared though and then seconds later there were 3 and they flew in a straight line one after another and then they were gone. It lasted about 2 minutes also in the north of Dublin by Howth.

Very Interesting and very calming.

Bright Glowing Orange Lights Over Midway Swadlincote UK

Date: November 7, 2010
Time: 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Swadlincote/Midway.
Number of witnesses: 3 - Myself, wife and son.
Number of Objects: 4
Shape of Objects: dots in the sky.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I locked my chickens up every night shortly after it gets dark, whilst walking down the garden I witnessed a bright glowing orange light moving slowly and silently across the sky.

Watching it for several minutes, I thought I was watching a plane on fire, but it gradually came to a halt in the sky and over the period of a few minutes the lights got dimmer until they disappeared.

I then took a step back and noticed 2 other orange lights traveling on the same path at the same speed. As they reached the same point as the first object they too stopped dead in the sky and slowly faded from view. (My wife can confirm these 2 lights)

Finally, I walked to the far end of the garden and saw a 4th light far in the distance. This too moved slowly to the same position as the previous lights before coming to a halt before slowly disappearing from view. (my 7 year old son can confirm this light).

The sky was clear at this time of night. I could see fireworks going off in the foreground and aeroplanes dotted around in other areas of the sky. These lights were neither of those. I considered Chinese lanterns, but the precise direction and identical disappearance of all 4 lights intrigued us.

Just wondering if anyone else saw/can explain them?

Just before we lost sight of it, it split into two and disappeared?

The thing is, we heard nothing about this in our town. I thought someone in Burton-on-Trent would of mentioned it via Facebook or something, but no. I must add it wasn't a lantern or a firework!

Strange Orange Lights Over Clacton UK

Date: November 6, 2010
Time: Between 19:00 and 19:30

Hi Brian, I saw the other people posting on here so I thought I would add my sighting too. This happened between 19:00 and 19:30.

Last night on the 6th November, I was outside with the kids lighting some fireworks when we all noticed some strange orange lights in the sky. They cannot of been either planes or fireworks because the lights were too big, too bright and lasted too long.

In total there were about a dozen and there was always more than one at a time, so they came in either pairs or threes. They were high in the sky, looked to be about the same as a plane and travelling from the north west in a southerly direction. These lights would stay in the sky for a few minutes before disappearing.

This was one of the strangest things we have ever seen and it even had us spooked a bit.

Cheers.

7 Stationary Orange Lights Seen From Hadley Road Towards Cockfosters UK

Date: November 6, 2010
Time: Approx: 8:00 p.m.

Hi there, I saw about 7 lights stationary in the sky driving down Hadley Road towards Cockfosters yesterday about 8:00pm. They were in a plus-sign + formation and eventually appeared to move off in different directions as we got further along the road.

I stopped and got out, by which time there was only one left which had moved down over some road/houses/streetlights in the distance. It stayed there stationary and pretty bright and was still there as we left. To us they appeared a deep orange rather than red. Very odd!

PS - came across your sight by Googling 'strange lights over Enfield'
